A lot of the communication problems we experience as a couple comes from “not what we say, but what we don’t say.” When we fail to be honest and direct about our feelings because we don’t want to disturb the relationship, we create a much more insidious relationship problem.
Often we suppress or repress unspoken negative feelings into our psychic and physical body. The build up over time can become unbearable and we begin to release that pent-up energy in our everyday exchanges in subtle and not so subtle ways. The “Unnecessary Add-ons” video shows what this can look like. Becoming aware of the destructive nature of such unresolved hurts and resentments can help us take steps to address things early on, being mindful of using kindness and compassion in our dealings.
